Why is it that so much deliberation is placed on PMO Models? Too often, organizations myopically focus on "the model" and in end up choosing which of many potential approaches the best fit is. And sometimes lost in the deliberations is the fact that each of these many models has practical characteristics that would well serve just about any PMO.

Recently I read a great article on Gantthead.com by Andy Jordan titled, “Is your PMO a profit center?” In this article Mr. Jordan suggests that companies have long struggled with being able to measure the benefit of a PMO, but it need not be as complicated as it is made out to be. Andy goes on to discuss a number of ways that PMOs can consider a financial measurement for the PMO. Andy’s article does a great job of teeing up the topic for discussion and consideration.
