  The PMO Podcast™ Featured Story
This week The PMO Podcast™ Featured Story presents, "An Overview of Scrum for PMO Managers." Scrum is a variation on Sashimi, an "all-at-once" approach to software engineering. What is Sashimi? Sashimi, as you might have guessed, comes to us from Japan and is a variant of the Waterfall Model. To no surprise, the Japanese had the same problems with the traditional Waterfall model that everybody else has had. Given their continuous improvement oriented culture, they adapted and improved upon the Waterfall Model to best suit their ways of doing things. Both Scrum and Sashimi are suited best to new product development rather than extended development. And many development teams also enjoy using Scrum for their backlog of enhancements and new feature requests.

  The PMO Podcast™ Points Memo
The PMO Podcast Points Memo asks "Do you want more innovation?" For many businesses and project offices, innovation is welcomed and abundant and contributes continually to the success of the organization. But, how do you get innovation from the team and from the individuals that make up the team. Well, study after study has shown that innovation is directly related to job security. Those with a real or perceived sense of job security are far more likely to be more innovative. And, those worried about losing their jobs are likely to find ways to stretch out their work and not be so concerned with or interested in innovative ways to do it better.

  The PMO Podcast™ Mailbag
The PMO Podcast Mailbag answers a listener question regarding using the terms project schedule and project plan interchangeably and incorrectly and how to improve the skill of the organization.
